The names of the lunar paradigm contain a collapsed lunar myth. Accordingly, they are characterized by all manifestations of the lunar cult. In summary, lunar paradigm names have the following characteristics:
- belonging to the Mother's world (matriarchy);
- the predominance of the feminine, reproducing and absorbing, dark, cyclic beginning;
- susceptibility to the influence of instincts;
- illusory;
- lunar heroism, based on the desire to prevail at any cost;
- obligatory opposition to everything diurnic, solar.

Lunar names can be correlated with Durand's concept of the "nocturne" mode. “The whole mode of the nocturne is the mode of euphemism (a euphemism in Greek is “good name”). A euphemism is the naming of a bad, flawed, harmful, evil, disgusting, indecent, terrible object or phenomenon as something softened, diminutive, petty, ironic, in order to psychologically remove the sharpness of the conflict that they carry in themselves. In this mode, everything that was refuted and discarded by the Diurn regime is subject to reassessment and rethinking.

Lunar mythology positively rethinks (euphemizes) the dark feminine. It in it means good, kind, soft, desirable, positive. “The night here is gentle and fresh, not terrible. The woman is the queen of the night. This is the "kingdom of mothers" that Faust was looking for in Goethe. Darkness in the lunar paradigm becomes a mystery, destruction becomes part of the natural cycle, betrayal becomes a step towards a great goal, etc.

In the space of the nocturne, the identity of the mythological hero is blurred, split, and the outside world, on the contrary, becomes homogeneous, devoid of boundaries. The less integrity of the subject, the less disturbing nuances the hero distinguishes in the object and the more he merges with it, fulfilling his main desire - to merge with his mother.

Intermediate names

As practice shows, there is another, third group of names, the meanings of which do not fit into any of the two paradigms under consideration. They are, as it were, between the Sun and the Moon, in a kind of "twilight zone", and therefore can be called intermediate.

Such names correspond to pre-dawn or sunset twilight, so that among them there are those in which solar characteristics predominate to one degree or another, and those in which the influence of the moon is greater. Accordingly, there are many nuances that make the intermediate group extremely heterogeneous. For detailed description its representatives require additional research, so in this article we will limit ourselves to stating the very fact of the presence of mixed or intermediate names. It is much more important now to understand as deeply as possible the names of the solar and lunar paradigms.

Mythological gender in solar and lunar paradigms

For a more complete understanding of the structural characteristics of solar and lunar names, we will again turn to the concept of J. Durand about two mythological modes of perception of the world - diurnic and nocturne.

However, one important remark must be made here. Duran's idea, as was done above, can be correlated with the division into solar and lunar names, but with certain reservations. The solar and lunar paradigm does not correlate with Duran's concept, as we know it in the presentation of A. Dugin, one hundred percent. But analogies between them can help us better understand the nature of the names of the Sun and Moon.

One of these analogies allows us to make a very important assumption that the solar paradigm and its names, as well as the regime of diurna, are associated with musculinoid. This is not about the male field in the physiological sense, but about masculinity, as a special psychological, social, cultural type that embodies the idea of ​​the solar principle. The lunar cult, as well as the nocturne mode, forms a matriarchal structure, where the feminine-maternal type prevails, which J. Durand calls feminoid.

These images are not directly related to real anatomy. Musculinoid and feminoid are associated with gender of a special kind. This is the mythological or psychological gender. So the usual lexical division into “male” and “female” names is not valid here. Only the archetypal scenario, presented in the form of a figurative-letter cipher of the name, has meaning. Therefore, the owner of a "male" (in the usual sense) name will not necessarily be a representative of the solar paradigm, but a "female" lunar one. Physiological sex does not determine belonging to the Solar or Lunar cult, and being muscular or feminoid is not a physiological attribute. This is an indicator of the presence in the name of either the solar or the lunar beginning.

Thus, solar (paternal, diurnic, musculinoid) characteristics can also carry female names, and lunar (maternal, nocturnal, feminoid) - male. In this regard, four types of subjects of nominal mythological paradigms can be distinguished:
- sunny husband;
- solar maiden;
- lunar husband;
- moon maiden.

Such a division, by the way, is quite justified from the point of view of the myth. In the cultural tradition of many peoples, the Sun can act as female character, and the Moon as masculine. At the same time, the Sun Goddess has nothing to do with the Moon Goddess and has musculinoid features, while the Moon God differs from the Sun God and has feminoid features.

The situation is exactly the same with the names inscribed in one or another mythological paradigm. Despite the common "lexical gender", the names of solar and lunar men and maidens structurally, in character, will differ as well as the Sun and the Moon. The lunar husband, unlike the solar, is feminoid, and the solar maiden, unlike the lunar, is musculinoid. But this does not mean, of course, that the lunar husband is necessarily effeminate, and the solar maiden is the notorious "man in a skirt." Not at all. This only says that the lunar husband carries the characteristics of the Mother's world and exists in the nocturne mode, while the solar maiden is endowed with the solar principle and is on the territory of the Father, in the diurna mode.

The proposed typology not only corresponds to mythological plots, but proceeds from the very nature of the Name, as a figurative-letter code. In addition, it allows you to better correlate the ideas of the solar-lunar paradigm and structural sociology. So, in the interpretation of the latter by A. Dugin, male and female cannot enter into harmonious fruitful relationships, since they exist in diametrically opposite modes. However, this becomes possible if we take into account that in the solar territory (according to Durand purely masculine) there can also be women with solar names (solar maidens), and on the lunar territory (according to Duran purely feminine) - men with lunar (lunar men). In this case, our typology, based on knowledge of the mythological field and the law of the existence of two paradigms, gives us the key to the most important thing - relationships.

Relationship between solar and lunar names

The relationship between the subjects-bearers of names surrounding us and those meanings that are realized in each specific name determine our reality. And surround us, as we already know, for the most part, either solar or lunar names. In this regard, the relationship between representatives of the solar and lunar paradigms is of great importance.

Again, the myth illustrates the peculiarities of the relationship between the Sun and the Moon. AT traditional cultures different peoples they can act as husband and wife, brother and sister, and so on. But in all its diversity, the main plot is clearly traced, which consists in the confrontation of two luminaries. Often, the lunar deity seeks to devour the solar deity.

This plot is most colorfully revealed in the image of a siren (compare with the Greek moon goddess Selena), a beautiful and alluring woman who lures the traveler into her arms, in which he loses his will and reason. In the same way, the Zoroastrian moon-faced Mach, with her songs, makes the Sun descend into the depths of the ocean, after which night comes. The sun, symbolizing the mind, falling into the power of the unconscious, symbolized by the moon, becomes unable to maintain order in the world for some time. The same thing happens when the Moon eclipses the Sun. The world is plunged into darkness for a while and the demons triumph. All this is just an interpretation of the archetypal myth common to all peoples about the moon goddess, luring the sun god into her arms.

Exactly the same happens in life real people. So, in the practice of the "Name Studio" there was a case when a woman, whose family name (surname) was inscribed in the solar paradigm, married a man with a lunar family name. After marriage, extremely negative changes began in her life. Illnesses, career destruction, etc. Moreover, after the woman began to have epileptic seizures (not due to heredity), her husband left her. But even after the divorce, the situation only worsened. This example most clearly illustrates how myth structures our reality. However, it does not follow from it that representatives of the Solar and Lunar paradigms cannot get along at all. This is not so, as evidenced by the corpus of myths where the Sun and Moon are spouses. But the fact is that even in this status they cannot be together all the time. Their marriage is identified with the full moon, the period when the moon completely reflects the sunlight. Even "great love" is not able to change this order. Talks about it beautiful legend of Psyche and Eros, where the Moon (Psyche) briefly enjoys the company of her divine lover (Eros). Under the influence of her own nature (in myth, these are her insidious sisters), she loses him and finds him in heaven only after she goes through severe trials (passes through the phases of a flawed and dark moon). And this cycle will be repeated again and again, since the Sun and the Moon are a biner, for the stability of which a third element is needed.

Often, spouses whose names belong to different paradigms, experiencing serious problems, solve them by giving birth to children. So, if the name of the spouse belongs to the solar paradigm, and the wife to the lunar one, then the birth of a son can be the way out to save such a family. In this case, the lunar maiden, as it were, confirms her readiness to continue the race of the solar husband, refuses to compete, and therefore ceases to be unconsciously perceived as an enemy. True, at the same time, she sacrifices her lunar nature, which is interested in the appearance of her daughter. Therefore, the best option would be the birth of a second child - a girl. Then the moon maiden herself will not feel flawed. But if a girl is born first, then a sunny husband (interested only in sons) will perceive this as evidence of an attempt on the Law, and the relationship of such a couple can be put in jeopardy.

The relationship of the Sun and the Moon is always a search for a compromise. Durand's concept, according to which diurne and nocturne are irreducible concepts, works here one hundred percent. A solar husband and a lunar maiden or a solar maiden and a lunar husband are absolutely heterogeneous, and therefore their relationship is always problematic. They either meet for a while and then part, or one of them must sacrifice himself. As a rule, the solar husband is not capable of this, as well as the moon maiden. The solar husband cannot realize himself at night, just as the moon maiden cannot realize himself during the day. It is outside their nature. But the moon men, being feminoid, are quite easily inferior to the solar virgins. Therefore, by the way, they are interested in the birth of girls. Moreover, as a rule, they really want this, since the appearance of daughters corresponds to their lunar beginning. On the contrary, the birth of a son by a solar maiden becomes a threat to him.

The most harmonious, of course, are the relationships between co-natural names: a solar husband - a solar maiden or a lunar husband - a lunar maiden. They, as they say, are the most suitable for each other, so their meeting is not due to the need for a sacrifice or the appearance of a third participant - a hostage of confrontation - capable of balancing the irreconcilable sides.

After all, the type of relationship, meaning, reality and, ultimately, the fate of specific people will depend on which representatives of which mythological scenarios interact.
