Let them say - Elder Ippolit: miracles at the grave of the archimandrite

In the studio Let them talk - the woman whom Elder Ippolit simply turned the whole world upside down: Lyubov Novokhatskaya was healed by Ippolit and has been grateful to him for many years for his help:

25 years ago I was diagnosed with cancer. I have all the documents about it that I brought with me. In 1992, I had an operation, and then the doctor said that they would not do chemo for me - we can only hope for the Lord God. In 1998, I entered the monastery. At that time, I was supposed to have a second operation, but Father Ippolit began to pray for me…

— Here in the Rylsky Monastery I began to work very hard and I am very glad that I am in this amazing place. Perhaps I was saved by the fact that I worked a lot and prayed with the priest and slept 2-3 hours a day. But isn't it a miracle that I've been alive for 25 years?

Honored Doctor of Russia Evgeny Lilyin:

- The question, of course, is very interesting and worthy of discussion. Firstly, the doctor who told you that you should not do chemotherapy and that you only have a few months left to live is, to put it mildly, a bad doctor. Secondly, you did not have a confirmed oncology. And it is not known whether you had cancer or not.

- But, nevertheless, I believe that it was faith in God that saved you! And this is the most important thing for us today. Father Ippolit for us is one of the few people who has great energy in himself, which can be shared with other people.

Father Hippolyte - Miracles of Healing: Stories in Let They Speak

Many years ago, Archimandrite Hippolyte said the following words:

“Many people come to me for help and they receive it, each according to his own faith. Our job is to read prayers, turn to the Lord.

In the studio Let them talk (release "The Last Hope: Miracles on the Eve of Epiphany") producer and composer Lama Safonova:

- In the fight against cancer, you need to understand that official medicine, inner strength and faith in God can help. I have experienced for myself that prayer can anesthetize. Behind me: chemo, radiotherapy and surgery. And I really believe that I can be healed completely.

Soon a monument to Archimandrite Ippolit, the former rector of the St. Nicholas Monastery, who was known among the people as a miracle worker, will be unveiled in Maryino soon. Father Ippolit died on December 17, 2002. But his memory lives on. Pilgrims gather at the grave of the elder from all over Russia. Every day, five or six buses with believers drive up to the monastery, not counting those who get there on their own. Some go to Father Hippolyte for six months, spending the night in the open air.

Father Ippolit served in the Rylsky Monastery for 11 years. Prior to that, he carried obedience in the Pskov-Caves Monastery. For decades Father Hippolytus served and prayed in Greece on the legendary holy Mount Athos. They say that the monks who spend many years there are blessed with God's gift - to heal people.

Father, of course, possessed the gift of clairvoyance, prophecy, healing and consolation, - says the disciple of Father Ippolit, monk Gregory.

Anna Ivanovna Savelieva, leader of pilgrimage groups from Moscow to Rylsk, says:

Once I brought a large group of pilgrims to Rylsk. On the bus was a woman with her son, who was diagnosed with AIDS by doctors.

The old man baptized him index finger and said he had nothing.

All the way to Moscow, the woman cursed the old man for lying. And upon arrival in the capital, everything was confirmed: the doctors recognized the boy as absolutely healthy. Or another miracle. On the eve of the operation to remove the tumor, the woman came to the grave to the priest. And the next morning I found that the tumor itself had resolved.

After such cases, many doctors were baptized and themselves came to the elder, - says Gregory.

When Father Ippolit was in a coma before his death, a resuscitation team from Moscow came to him. Before the eyes of the doctors, the icon of the Savior Not Made by Hands, hanging at the head of the elder, began to bleed. After this miracle, doctors brought their close relatives here to pray at the grave of the priest.

He died from a massive stroke. The reprimands* were very hard physically for the priest. Hundreds of sufferers staged a terrible stampede in the church. Father Ippolit read prayers over them. And at that moment, as they say, something unimaginable began to happen. Women screamed in male voices and vice versa, someone's stomach began to tremble, someone toiled like a pig. After such Saturday prayers, the priest did not get up for several days, ulcers appeared on his body, which, however, quickly healed.

He raised the Rylsky monastery from the ruins. With the blessing of Archimandrite Ippolit, three healing springs were opened near the monastery: Mother of God, Nicholas the Wonderworker and Reverend John Rylsky. Father Ippolit hosted everyone: criminals, drug addicts, drunkards, homeless people.

Once my friend Alla from Vladikavkaz came to him, - says Grigory. She has been taking drugs for many years. The elder talked to her, comforted her, and asked her to bring her friend with her the next time, who had the same problems. The girls arrived, the elder predicted their future for them. He blessed Alla for marriage, said that she would have a large apartment in St. Petersburg, that she would go to medical school. And he asked Alla's son to be named Nicholas in honor of the saint. That's how it all happened. Young women no longer remembered about drugs.

Monk Gregory, at the request of the priest, read the letters that came to him. Father Ippolit helped many to cope with illnesses at a distance. If it was a phone call, then the priest, often without listening to the interlocutor, would tell him about his problems and immediately solve them by some miracle.

In general, the priest was laconic, did not like it when he was praised as a monk. When he was buried, the monastery shone. In the sky, despite the fact that it was winter, a rainbow appeared. Radiance also appeared to the left of the resting place. And the oak cross on the grave was fragrant and myrrh-streaming several times. People collected myrrh in bubbles...

* Special prayers for the sick. Prayers for them were written by the great Christian saints - John Chrysostom and Basil the Great.
