Prayers to Saints Peter and Fevronia of Murom for love and family well-being

Many troubles lie in wait for people on the path of life. Previously, it was customary to work on problems and mistakes, but now it is easier to refuse them. It is especially difficult in society to maintain a marriage union. Spouses have become independent, women are not submissive, men do not have respect for their other half.

Prayer to Peter and Fevronia for the preservation of the family will help the lovers to keep the bonds of Hymen. The holy spouses previously ruled the city of Murom, and in their advanced years they became monks. For the sake of love, they begged God to repose in one day and hour.

What do the holy spouses help with?

Not a single request of the prayer book will go unnoticed by the holy spouses:

  • very often lonely people turn to the holy family, dreaming of meeting love and finding a family;
  • those who have found a soul mate often pray for the strengthening of marriage and the normalization of relations in the family due to litter and other domestic troubles;
  • spouses help women get pregnant, bear and give birth to a healthy child;
  • grant sick people a speedy recovery.

Legend of Peter and Fevronia

Prince Peter took the life of the snake, which tempted his brother's wife, taking on his own appearance. During the struggle with the devil, drops of poisonous blood were splashed on Peter, which provoked the development of a serious and incurable disease.

Saints Peter and Fevronia of Murom

The man's body was covered with scabs, the disease progressed and even well-known medical saints could not cope with it. Once the prince had a prophetic dream that a commoner girl named Fevronia could heal him. The princely envoy found a peasant woman in one of the villages. The girl indicated that Peter should come to her personally. A half-dead man appeared to the healer, and she demanded marriage as a retribution for her recovery.

The prince agreed, but the girl saw deceit. She smeared the wounds on her body with ointment, prudently not touching one of them, heated the bath and ordered the patient to bathe in it. Healed from illness, Peter went home, forgetting about the promised marriage. But soon the disease began to develop again and the prince had to turn to Fevronia for the second time.

She finally healed the man and he married her.

Conjugal rule

Peter took over as governor of the city. The townspeople did not like his wife, a commoner. The prince was given an ultimatum: wife or throne. Peter chose a wife and together they left the city.

Fevronia did her best to calm and support her dejected husband. But soon a bloody struggle for the throne broke out in Murom, it came to bloody murders and the strongest turmoil. The distraught boyars could not stand the intensity of passions and begged Peter and Fevronia to return and take control of Murom. A miracle happened and the townspeople fell in love with the good Fevronia for her meek disposition, modesty and wisdom.

The end of the earth's journey

At the end of their lives, the husband and wife decided to retire from the city to a monastery. They took monastic vows with the names David and Euphrosyne.

The monks zealously prayed to the Heavenly Father to grant them a glorious death in one day and hour. The Lord fulfilled their request. Once Euphrosinia was sitting in the air and embroidering the Face of the Queen of Heaven. An envoy from David came to her with the news that the hour of death had come and he was waiting for his beloved nun. She asked me to wait a bit to finish the job. Soon, for the second time, the messenger visited the nun with the news that David could no longer wait for her and was dying. Euphrosinia left her embroidery, went into her cell, lay down on the bed, and soon reposed in the Lord.

The monks bequeathed to bury them in the same coffin upon death. They even prepared a tomb in advance, dividing it in the middle with a small barrier. But the monastic dogmas were contrary to the burial of a man and a woman in the same coffin, and their bodies were separated. But to everyone's surprise, in the morning their bodies lay together.

They were separated again, but the late spouses miraculously found themselves together again.

The more monastic brethren did not dare to separate the bodies.

Why did the Lord glorify this childless couple? For what merits did she become a model of an ideal family?

The modern world is far from ideal. In the event of problems that arise, people are the last to turn to an Orthodox church, mechanically read a prayer and light a candle, and with the thoughts “well, finally, everything will be fulfilled now,” they leave the church and again forget about God. But the church is not a service bureau, it is communication with God, with His saints, participation in the Sacraments and in the life of the parish.

The princes were also ordinary people with infirmities and hopes, they had "earthly" goals. They were not saints, because holiness comes with the realization of one's duty and place in the world. The girl probably dreamed of a loving husband and prayed to the Almighty to send her a worthy life partner. She considered the appearance of the prince in her possessions as help from Heaven. Well, Peter hardly thought that he would marry a peasant woman.

Why Peter and Fevronia became saints

Was he grateful enough for the girl to be healed? Was he tactful with his wife in the first days and months of an unequal marriage? We will never know the real truth.

But the Lord glorified the holy couple precisely because the spouses were able to go through all the difficulties of the earthly path with their heads held high and awareness of responsibility for the chosen path. Even despite the absence of heirs, which the couple really dreamed of, they remained faithful to the Lord and to each other.

True love reigned between the spouses, one that never dies. Knowing it perfectly, the princes of Murom achieved holiness.

Rules for reading a prayer

When offering a prayer, you should follow some recommendations:

  • one must be sincere in prayer;
  • it is necessary to know the life of the saint to whom the prayer is addressed;
  • true faith must be present in the soul and heart;
  • you need to read the petition not once, but several times a day, especially when the soul feels the need to communicate with the Heavenly Father and the saint.
Advice! In the life of every person there are difficulties and parting with loved ones, which entails sadness and longing. Often young girls try to get their loved ones back and dream of an early wedding.

Prayer to Peter and Fevronia for marriage will help make their cherished dream come true.

How to order a prayer service to the holy princes

The prayer service is performed conciliarly, not by one person, but together with the priest and parishioners.

It is conciliar prayer that has more power than private (home) prayer. Often it is accompanied by a small blessing of the water, to which the Lord sends the Grace of the Holy Spirit.

When submitting a note for a prayer service in a church shop, you must indicate the name of the prayer service:

  • simple;
  • water-consecrated.

After the blessing of water prayer, blessed water is distributed to believers so that they and their household members use the Holy gift for healing.

When ordering a prayer service, some subtleties should be taken into account:

  • type of prayer service (for healing, thanksgiving, for help);
  • indicate the name of the saint to whom prayer will be offered;
  • list the names of people baptized in Orthodoxy (in the genitive case), on behalf of whom prayer singing will be performed.

Important! Mercy from Heaven and holy help will be received first of all by the prayer book who most of all needs help.

The holy princes are the patrons of a happy marriage, and the prayer to Peter and Fevronia for family well-being truly works wonders.
